Our eggsperts in the field

Our egg provider, Duncan, has over 200 hens who live in the comfortable surrounds of the rolling hills of County Wicklow, Ireland.
Duncan usually supplies incubators containing eggs-about-to-hatch to class rooms across Ireland through his company the Amazing Egg Company. The idea being kids get educated about eggs, chickens and what not.
The eggs we're using were laid on the 18th July 2008 on Duncan's Farm in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. They were then transferred to their new home at Paddy Power HQ. They are kept in an incubator at constant temperature, and will most likely hatch on the 8th August 2008. However this is nature and this date could vary!
Of the ten eggs to go in to the incubator, it is expected that about 6-8 will be viable, meaning 2-4 could be unviable (the cockerel wasn't doing his job properly that day!) On day ten, the 28th July, the eggs will be checked, and the unviable (infertile) eggs removed. We'll record all this so you can see what's happening.
When the eggs have hatched, Duncan will transport them back to his farm where they will live happily egger after.
If you're a teacher interested in having an incubator in your class room, contact Duncan on 00353 (0)86 193 4255.
